Booking a course with m.l.a.
- Minimum age limit is 9 years.
- All courses associated with m.l.a. commence on a Sunday and conclude on a Sunday. English tuition is generally from Monday through Friday. Public holidays are not an exception.
- Please complete registration via www.mackdonald.com. m.l.a. will issue confirmation of booking on receipt of 'sign-up' form and deposit. Payment details will be given upon the receipt of the sign-up form.
- In order to secure one's place in the course, a deposit of € 300,- is required. Money paid for the deposit is non-refundable.
Copyright and legal note
- By signing up for a course you acknowledge that m.l.a. has the right to publish photographs taken during the course on its website www.mackdonald.com. The photos may also be used for m.l.a.'s brochures and marketing cards. Students will be asked for permission.
- m.l.a. will not sell or release photographs or students' details to third parties.
Payment
- The complete course fee (course price minus deposit of € 300,- Euro) must be paid in full, at least 30 days prior to the start of the booked course.
- Students who register less than 30 days before arrival must include full payment with 'sign-up' form.

- Bank charges to be paid by the student.
Itinerary
- Prior to the start of your booked course, m.l.a. will issue a full itinerary. All necessary information about student’s host families as well as a detailed programme with all lessons, activities and trips will be included.
Cancellation Policy
- Money paid for the course is non-refundable.
- m.l.a. strongly advises the students to take out insurance so they are covered if they are unable to attend the course.
- Course start dates may be subject to change due to availability or other events outside the control of m.l.a.
- m.l.a. reserves the right to alter, change, curtail or cancel a course. If, as a consequence of 'force majeure' m.l.a. is obliged to curtail, alter, extend or cancel a course, the participant shall not be at liberty to maintain a claim for compensation or otherwise for any loss arising as a consequence of the said curtailment, alteration, extension or cancellation of the course.
- If, prior to the arrival date, there is a cancellation, alteration, change or curtailment relating to a course which results in more than 24 hours change in the time of arrival, or a change of centre, or in the type of accommodation offered or some other change which fundamentally alters the course, m.l.a. shall, if practicable, offer an alternative, comparable course of at least similar standard within the following two weeks.
Medical and Travel Insurance
- Students are advised to take out travel and medical insurance at the time of booking.
- m.l.a. can not be made liable for any injuries of students, loss or damage of students' belongings during their stay with m.l.a.
Course Fee
- Tuition, accommodation, and selected activities and tours are included in the course price. There are no hidden costs.
Host family
- Host family stays are calculated per seven nights, half board Monday to Friday, and full board at the weekend.
- All students are guaranteed a single room.
- One student from each nationality per host family.
- Transportation from the host family to school will be provided if required.
- Students should state any special dietary requirements at the time of enrolment.
Flights
- m.l.a. will book flights for students on request if due notice is given in advance, namely on 'sign-up'. We encourage our students to book their flights themselves.
- A number of 'low-fare airlines' fly to and from Dublin International Airport. The earlier the booking the cheaper the price.
Airport Transfers
- Transfer to and from Dublin International airport is included in the course price. An m.l.a. representative will be available at the airport on the Sunday between 10.00 and 17.00 to assist the students with collection and transportation.
- Students must confirm exact date and time of arrival with m.l.a. at least two weeks in advance.
- Students who arrive / depart outside the set arrival or departure dates (Sunday) and times (10.00 - 17.00) will be subject to an additional € 50,- Euro transfer fee.
- Regular arrival and departure days are Sunday. The charge for additional days due to early arrivals or late departures is € 50, - Euro per day.
Rules of Conduct
- Students are expected to attend classes regularly and on time. Students forfeit tuition if they are late, absent or leave early. Any student not obeying the rules of m.l.a. will be reported to his/her parents. Continual unacceptable behaviour will mean automatic return home at own expense.
- Staying with a host family is a very important part of a student's course at m.l.a.. m.l.a. has put a lot of work into finding suitable host families.
- Staying in a host family should be an experience that is pleasurable and worthwhile for all: host families, students and m.l.a.. Students must realise that they have the privilege of living with a family, and that they must also fit in and respect the family's way of life.
- The host family may cook their meals at certain times. To avoid awkward situations the student must give his/her family enough notice if they decide to eat elsewhere.
- Curfew for all students is 22.00, regardless of age. Students should be back in their accommodation no later than half past ten, unless students are on an arranged activity with m.l.a.. Exceptions may occur, only with written permission from the student's parents.
- Students should not use the host family's telephone without permission. An agreement can be made between the student and the host.
- If a student decides to stay with a friend from the school, both host families must be informed and permission must be granted.
- It is forbidden to smoke in Ireland under 17 years of age. There is strictly no smoking in restaurants, pubs and bars.
- If a student is caught with any drugs other than cigarettes, he/she will be sent home, at his/her own expense.
- It is strictly forbidden to drink alcohol under 18 years of age.
