We’ll also provide everything you need to know about your programme, including a detailed itinerary with your lessons, activities, excursions and other important arrangements for your stay in Ireland.
All this information - and much more - will be available in our dedicated student mobile app, so you’ll have everything you need at your fingertips throughout your stay. Your personal login details will be sent to you before you travel to Ireland.

- Twin room accommodation is our standard placement, giving students the chance to share their experience with another international student.
- Single rooms are available on request and subject to availability, at an additional charge.
- A suitable study area is available in the host family home, giving students a quiet space for homework and independent study.
- Wi-Fi is available.

Everyday Comforts
- Full board is included, with breakfast and dinner provided by the host family and a packed lunch for school and excursions.
- Many of our host families live within walking distance of our school. If your host family lives further away, daily transfers are provided.
- Bed linen, duvet and towels are provided for the duration of the stay.
- Laundry is taken care of by the host family, or students are given free access to a washing machine.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are host families selected?
All host families are carefully selected and regularly inspected to ensure high quality standards, and wherever possible, students are placed with a family with children or other students of a similar age.
Will I be the only student from my country in my host family?
Yes - we guarantee that each individual student is the only person of their nationality in their host family, so English stays the only spoken language at all times. (This does not apply to students travelling as a group.)
What's included in the accommodation?
Accommodation is generally full board (breakfast, packed or hot lunch, and dinner), with linen, duvet and towels provided.
Will I have my own room?
Students are usually placed in a twin room as standard. A single room is available on request, at an additional charge.
How far is the host family from school?
Many host families live within walking distance of our summer centre in Kilkenny. If needed, host families provide free transfers to and from school or activities each day, so public transport is not necessary.
When will I get my host family's details?
Full host family details (names, address, phone, email, profession, etc.) along with a detailed itinerary for your stay are shared approx. 2-3 weeks before your course begins.
Can I request a specific type of host family?
Yes. You can let us know about any special requests when registering, such as a city centre or countryside location, children / other students of a similar age in the host family, dietary requirements or allergies. We’ll do our best to find a suitable match, but specific requests are always subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
