The programme is designed for international students aged 12 to 18 years who have at least an Intermediate level of English (the minimum requirement).

You can attend for varying durations: a month, a term, or a full academic year.

Included services are free consultation and advice, selection of a suitable high school, school tuition fees, local orientation on arrival, support from a local coordinator, full board accommodation with a host family or boarding school, airport transfers, 24/7 emergency contact, a student mobile app, and frequent academic reports for parents. A contribution towards textbooks and school uniform is included for full academic stays only.

Students stay in a carefully selected host family (single room) or in a boarding school, with full board including breakfast, (packed) lunch, and dinner every day. Short holiday breaks of up to one week are spent with the host family.

It is divided into two cycles: the Junior Cycle, which lasts three years (from age 12), and the Senior Cycle, which lasts a further three years (from age 15).

Transition Year is the first year of the Senior Cycle, usually for students aged 15-16. It combines academic, vocational, and personal/social development to help students make informed choices about their future study and university options.

The Junior Certificate is the State Examination taken at the end of the Junior Cycle. The Leaving Certificate is taken at the end of the Senior Cycle and serves as both an exit exam from school and a university entrance exam.

In the Junior Cycle, students usually take between 9 and 13 subjects. No school offers the complete range of subjects, so most high schools offer approximately 16 subjects to choose from.

Yes. Attending an Irish high school allows you to further your education at undergraduate level in an Institute of Technology, University, or other third level institution in Ireland and other countries.
