Our English courses for adults in Kilkenny focus on small classes, personal attention and practical communication. General English classes have a maximum of six students, while mini-groups are limited to just three, creating a supportive and highly effective learning environment.
From day one, students are encouraged to speak English throughout their course - both inside and outside the classroom. Lessons are taught by experienced, ESL teachers teachers.
Kilkenny is an ideal place to learn English in Ireland, as the local accent is clear and easy to understand. Lessons take place in modern classrooms and combine professional tuition with a friendly, relaxed and personal atmosphere
Courses are available for all English levels and begin every Monday throughout the year. Each lesson lasts 45 minutes, with a choice of small-group, mini-group, private and combination courses. Afternoon classes may also be available during peak periods.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many students are in each class?
General group classes have a maximum of 6 adult learners. For more individual attention, mini-group classes are capped at just 3 students.
Private classes are 1 on 1.
Who teaches the lessons?
All lessons are taught by motivated and qualified ESL teachers who hold a TEFL certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language).
When can I start my course?
Language courses generally begin every Monday throughout the year. If a suitable group class is unavailable, students can take private lessons instead.
Is English spoken outside the classroom too?
Yes - from day one, students are encouraged to use English as the only spoken language throughout the whole course, both inside and outside the classroom.
What accommodation options are available?
Adult learners choose from host family accommodation (full board, single room), bed & breakfast or a self-catering apartment, depending on preference and availability.
Are activities and excursions included?
The school runs a leisure programme with cultural and social activities in Kilkenny roughly 1–2 times a week, plus full-day excursions such as Dublin City, the Irish Coast, and Glendalough. Participation is voluntary.
Are airport transfers available?
Yes - airport transfers can be arranged from Dublin or Cork airport, with collective transfers available for groups upon request.
